well done for Saturday's matches
Yesterday I though we were excellent for the most part. To beat Llanrumney is not easy and too be fair we could have won 4-0 and nobody would have complained. I was very pleased there was no trouble this time. I made an attempt to be friendly to them before the game and maybe that helped as you just want to watch the football and not have any trouble. We beat Llanedeyrn first game 2-1 and we were all over them. We nearly gave them an underseved draw, but thankfully Joshua scored the winner almost on time, but we should have been out of sight by then and on another day we would have. To beat Llanedeyrn 3 times on the trot and convincingly as well has been very pleasing. Our one loss was 0-1 to Maindy Black who were a bit better than I thought, but it was mainly because the rotation caught us out this time. The scorers yesterday were Joshua Elward with 2 goals which puts him on a superb 23 for the season and Ieuan with one which is an equally superb season total of 14. We have done much better than I expected to be honest and it is great for us all. I could play the strongest team every game, but it is about the players learning the game and having fun and I am determined to play all players at least 3 halves which is not easy especially with all 13 players available now. I am trying to balance a minimum playing time with trying to win the games also and it has worked so far. Ideally you would like only 10 or 11 in the squad, but at some games this season we wouldn't have had enough to play if the squad was small and my idea is that if they stay together for the next 2 seasons then when it is 11 a-side you have almost the entire squad already. If I tried to work a rotation out where only 10 came to each game it wouldn't work as it's proved this season that things happen and people can't make it every week, plus I think it's nice for all to be involved every week. I think it's best to carry on as we are. |
